About
Signs reading ‘God Roept U’ (‘God Calls You’ in Dutch), and ‘Jesus Loves You’ are hard to miss on the front of YWAM Amsterdam’s most visible building, located in a high-traffic area opposite Amsterdam Central Station.
YWAM Amsterdam is an urban community of Jesus-followers who are involved in a range of projects across the city. One of their main ministries is The Tabernacle, a house of prayer founded on the belief that God’s presence will bring a shift in the spiritual atmosphere of the Red Light district, drawing women out of prostitution and setting people free. Outreach teams would have the opportunity to join in worship and intercession at this key location in the city.
YWAM Amsterdam desires to see revival in their city and nation!
In addition to prayer and praise at The Tabernacle, NN Camp teams will do evangelism in the city, help in some practical areas around the YWAM base, and serve in some of the other ministries YWAM Amsterdam is involved in, such as a weekly homeless ministry, a clothing shop in a predominantly Muslim neighbourhood, and serving refugees in the local area.
Neighbours & Nations Camp
Your time will begin by joining Neighbours & Nations Camp from the 24th-28th July, where you will join with other young people pursuing missions opportunities both overseas and at home. There will be fantastic worship, teaching and a ton of fun! You'll have a few required workshops during the camp and on the last day join the "Missions Track" where all of our mission teams will be prepared for their upcoming trips!
Your NN Camp ticket is included in the costs for the mission trip of £550 + Flight. Once you've applied, you'll need to purchase your £170 NN camp ticket (£150 if using the EARLYBIRD code before December 31st), and also add the Mission Track Extra to your ticket which is a £50 deposit for the mission trip. For youth groups this will likely be arranged by your team leader, for individuals, they will need to do this themselves. Dorm room accommodation will be prioritised for applicants travelling overseas, however it is limited and if at capacity we may ask UK based groups to camp.
You can find more about N&N camp here: https://www.neighboursandnations.co.uk/youth-camp
Go!
You'll head to Amsterdam on the 29th July and serve in various ways there until 6/7th August depending on flight times. On the 7th you'll spend the day back at YWAM Harpenden reflecting and processing your time overseas, all that you did, how God used you and how you might apply some of what you have experienced in your home communities. You'll also prepare for your group to give a short presentation of your time.
Celebration
On the final day, 8th August, parents, friends and family are all invited to YWAM Harpenden for a celebration of what God did this year! Each group will have a chance to share how God used you and your team and of course, obligatory snacks... maybe chocolate fountains... who knows?...
How To Apply
We use a system called ServiceReef to manage our mission trip applications, it is a fantastic tool to help us organise everything for your mission trip! The first step to joining is to click the apply link on this page and fill out the application form! It's really important for applicants under 18 to ensure a correct parent email is entered during your SericeReef account creation as it ensures they are kept in the loop with all communications.
Once you hit submit on your application, it will be reviewed by our admin team and then you'll be added to the outreach opportunity (this may take a day or two). You'll then be able to log back into ServiceReef and access all the remaining tasks you will need to complete to finalise your application (references, upload a scan of your passport, submit a background check (for over 18s), upload insurance details etc). For those under 18 the first task you'll have is to add a parent to your "household" in ServiceReef, It can easily be done from your "Dashboard" and there's even a handy help guide here Helpdesk : ServiceReef , once done they'll be able to help you with any of your tasks and access any documents for the trip.
You'll be sent a weekly reminder on Fridays of any outstanding/overdue tasks still needing to be completed. As the trip gets closer it's possible that additional tasks may be added to your account if extra information is required, again an email will be sent if this is the case.
If you have any questions, please don't hesitate to reach out to our admin team at [email protected]
